Minimum Requirements For BBC Recruitment 2024

Video Journalist – Igbo:

1. An understanding of Igbo language, ability to communicate and produce content in the language.
2. Significant recent experience as a journalist, with a good knowledge of production techniques – especially self-shooting and editing.
3. Demonstrates sound editorial and policy decisions based upon a clear understanding of the BBC’s distinctive news agenda, the requirements of news and current affairs coverage and the audience.
4. Strong record of originating and developing stories for news programmes.
5. Ability to use technology as required, gathering material for broadcast.

Senior Journalist – Reporter (Business):

1. Experience in reporting business and producing analytical content.
2. Experience of live broadcasting including live breaking news with a good on-screen presence, self-assured microphone voice and ability to communicate effectively to target audience. A knowledge of and aptitude for using multimedia technology.
3. Demonstrates balanced and impartial judgement. Makes appropriate editorial decisions, taking account of conflicting views where necessary.
4. A demonstrable interest in new media which will include knowledge of how to maximize a story for digital, reporting experience and proven skills in generating original newsgathering.
5. Ability to convey story and programme ideas and to contribute fully to the planning process
