The Community Schemes Ombud Service Act (Act 9 of 2011) was promulgated on 11 June 2011 and provides for the establishment of the Community Schemes Ombud Service (“CSOS”) as a public entity.

The South African Government entity has been classified as a Schedule 3A Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (Act No.1 of 1999) (PFMA).

Requirements for CSOS Recruitment 2024

1. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in law or a recognised equivalent qualification is a prerequisite
2. Applicant must hold a postgraduate qualification at Master level: MBL, Master’s Degree in Law /Property Law, or other equivalent qualification in law, and registration with the Bar will be an added advantage
3. Applicant must have prior experience of 15 years,10 of which must be in an Executive or Senior Management role
4. Applicant must have a proven record of good governance, financial administration, stakeholder management, and strategic reporting
5. Knowledge and experience in the resolution of disputes
6. Candidate must know about the Community Schemes environment including Sectional Titles, Home-Owners Associations, or similar environment
7. Understanding the legislative environment of Government and government entities
