Requirements for NNBTS Recruitment 2024

The following are the requirements needed for the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School recruitment 2024/2025:

  1. Applicant must be a citizen of Nigeria by birth.
  2. Applicants should possess School Certificate and must be between the ages of 18 – 22 years by 31st December 2024. Applicant with OND qualification must be between ages of 18 – 26 years by 31st December 2024.
  3. Applicants are to provide their statement of results.
  4. Applicants must not be married.
  5. Applicants must be free from any previous criminal conviction by a court of law.
  6. Applicants with any of the following medical/physical challenges are NOT to apply: sight problem, ear problem, communicable diseases, mental problems, stammering, or any physical disability. Applicants who have tattoos are also not to apply.
  7. Applicants must not be below the height of 1.69 meters for males and 1.65 meters for females.

Educational Requirements

Applicants are required to possess any of the following educational/professional qualifications:

  1. West African Senior School Certificate Examination Certificate (not more than 2 sittings and not older than 6 years from the date of application, also applicable to sub paragraphs b – e).
  2. General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level.
  3. National Examination Council (NECO).
  4. National Business and Technical Examinations (NABTEB).
  5. WAEC City and Guilds or London City and Guild.
  6. Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
  7. Any other educational qualification equivalent to those mentioned above.
  8. Applicants would be required to produce their primary school leaving certificate at the selection interview.

How to Apply for Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) 2024

Application Form is to be completed and submitted online as follows

  1. Visit the e-recruitment portal of NNBTS via https://nnrportal.azurewebsites.net/Identity/Account/Register
  2. Register an account
  3. Select the position you are applying for from the list of advertised jobs
  4. Fill out the application form
  5. Finally, submit the form

Important Information

  1. Recruitment Aptitude Test will hold on 18th January, 2025 at designated centres nationwide.
  2. Please note that Nigerian Navy Online registration and all other Recruitment processes are FREE OF CHARGE and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise.
  3. The Attestation Form must be accompanied by the passport photograph and photocopy of the signee’s Driver License, International Passport or National ID Card. The signee is also to authenticate the passport photograph of the applicant.
  4. Only a single valid application is permitted, multiple online application shall be disqualified
  5. Successful applicants will undergo basic military training and on completion will be enlisted into the Service of the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.

Screening Requirements

Applicants must come to the recruitment centres with the following documents:

  1. Photocopies of Birth Certificate or Age Declaration.
  2. Photocopies of Credentials including First School Leaving Certificate/Testimonial.
  3. Duly completed Identification Form must be signed by Chairman or Secretary of the Applicant’s LGA or by an officer of the rank of Commander and above (or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force) or Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and above who hails from the Applicant’s State of Origin.
  4. Duly completed Parent/Guardian Consent Form signed by Applicant’s Parent or Guardian.
  5. Four (4) passport photographs duly signed and stamped at the back by (c) above.
  6. Candidates are to bring the scratch cards of their WAEC, GCE, NECO and NABTEB results to the recruitment centres.
