Qualifications for SARAO Recruitment 2024

To be recruited into SARAO rank, you must adhere to the following qualifications:

Handyman

1. Candidates must possess Grade 12
2. Candidates must have N2/N3 Technical certificate (electrical, plumbing, mechanical or HVAC)
3. Candidates must have 3 years experience in building maintenance, air-conditioning, electrical, water reticulation and grounds maintenance.
4. Candidates must attended a basic training on hand tools, electrical and mechanical equipment
5. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and 2 years of driving experience
6. Candidates must have knowledge in building maintenance (painting, tilling, woodwork, plastering, bricklaying and civil work)
7. Knowledge in reading schematic drawings
8. Knowledge of OHS Act and ISO9001

Senior Fibre Technician (Carnarvon)

1. Candidates must have National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with + 9 years related work experience, of which +5 years is in Fibre Optic splicing
2. Candidates must have a Valid Driver’s licence
3. Candidates must have FOA Certificate
4. Candidates must have worked in a project team at a responsible level
5. Candidates must have experience in using Fibre Optic troubleshooting tools (i.e., OTDR, Loss tests, Inspection probes, etc.)
