Minimum Requirements For University of Abuja Recruitment 2024

The candidate is expected to:

Registrar:

  1. The candidate must have a good honours degree in the Liberal Arts, Humanities, or related disciplines with at least fifteen (15) years of post-qualification administrative experience in a university system.
  2. Possession of higher degree(s) and membership in professional bodies would be an added advantage.
  3. Not be below the rank of Deputy Registrar, for a minimum of five (5) years;
  4. Be knowledgeable about the operations of the University system and competent to advise and take executive action on matters of planning, designing, and management in realization of the cardinal objectives of the University.
  5. Demonstrate evidence of mentorship skills and resourcefulness in advancing administrative principles, processes, procedures, and practices in a university system.

Vice-Chancellor:

  1. Be an accomplished Professor in a recognised
  2. University, with the ability to provide academic and administrative leadership for the University Community.
  3.  Holder of a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in any of the disciplines offered by the University.
  4. Candidate shall also demonstrate ability for active teaching and research at the University level for at least ten (10) years.
  5. Candidate shall show evidence for postgraduate teaching and supervision for at least five (5) years.
  6. Possession of a proven track record of academic excellence to command the recognition and respect of National and International Academic Communities.
  7. Publication of at least twenty (20) research (Journal) articles in reputable Local and International Journals.

Interested and qualified candidates should forward thirty (30) copies of their Applications,  detailed Curriculum Vitae and duly signed and dated copies of credentials attached. The Curriculum Vitae should contain among other things, the following:

  7. Marital Status.
  8. Number and ages of children.
  9. Institutions attended with dates
  10. Academic qualifications with dates
  11.  Membership of professional bodies with dates
  12. Present employment, status, salary, and employer 13. Positions held with dates
  13. Extra-curricular activities
  14. Statement of Vision for the University Registry in not more than 1,000 words
  15. Each applicant must submit names and addresses of three (3) referees who should be requested to forward their referee’s reports to the Vice-Chancellor

Applications shall be addressed and submitted in a sealed envelope and marked “Post of Registrar” on the top left corner to:

For the Position of Vice Chancellor:

Applications shall be addressed and submitted not more than 1,000 worded Mission Statement, duly signed and dated copies of credentials attached in a sealed envelope and marked “Post of Vice-Chancellor” on the top left corner to:

P. M. B. 117, Abuja,
Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria.

Note:

  1. Each referee must be contacted by the applicant to forward a confidential report on the candidate’s character / conduct, academic and managerial competence, in a properly sealed envelope marked “Reference / Post of Vice-Chancellor” at the top left corner to the Registrar
  2. All applications shall be duly acknowledged. However, only shortlisted candidates shall be contacted for interview.
  3. Those who have earlier applied need not apply except if they wish to add an addendum.
